FIFA wants India to organise under-17 world cup

Fifa gave unofficial proposal to India to organise U-17 World Cup.   The FIFA will be happy to see India hosting the under-17 world cup at the end of this decade, according to a senior official of the world governing body.
 
Thierry Regenass, the director of membership and development association of FIFA, who is currently in the capital said that he hoped India make a bid to host the 24-team tournament either in 2017 or in 2019.
 
Speaking during a football seminar in Gurgaon on friday, where senior All India Football Federation (AIFF) officials, including general secretary Kushal Das were also present, Regenass said that world body was ready to provide all technical help if India decided to stage this tournament. The Fifa official made it clear that india will have to build at least seven to eight world class stadiums to has a tournament of such magnitude. He said that "I am sure the Indian federation will receive government support for making the tournament a success
