Sachin Tendulkar First Man to reach 2,000 World Cup runs

Sachin Tendulkar has reached yet another milestone in his cricketing life. Sachin Tendulkar has become the first man to reach 2000 run mark in World Cups.

Sachin Tendulkar achieved this feet against Netherlands where the both teams have met each other in Group B World Cup clash. India won this match with five wickets and 81 balls remaining. Sachin Tendulkar opened the Indian innings along with Virender Sehwag; they put on 69 run partnership for the first wicket. The partnership came to an end when Sehwag (39) was dismissed by Pieter Seelaar.
The Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar reached 2000 World Cup runs in style by hitting three consecutive fours. Tendulkar (27) was dismissed when he tried to clear long on in the bowling of Pieter Sealer. The 37-year-old is playing his sixth World Cup and he reached 2000 runs in 40 matches. Sachin played his first World Cup Tournament in 1992, till now he has scored five centuries and thirteen fifties in 40 World Cup matches.

The next player near to Sachin Tendulkar is Ricky Ponting with 1577 runs in 42 matches. Sachin’s every record is being chased by Ponting, but he is way too far to beat those records. Sachin Tendulkar averages 57.4 in World Cup, where Ricky Ponting averages 46.38.
